Jaleta Shuka Gurumu A Preliminary Study On Urinary Bladder Lesions Of Cattle Slaughtered At Hashim Export Abattoir, Debrzeit

Research Paper (postgraduate) from the year 2015 in the subject Veterinary medicine, , language: English, abstract: The study was conducted from December 2014 to April 2015 aimed to determine the prevalence and types of urinary bladder lesions of local and exotic breeds of male cattle slaughtered at one of the recognized Debre Zeit abattoir. The urinary bladders of 325 male cattle were removed, inspected and opened to detect gross lesions. The prevalence of urinary bladder lesions was found to be 6.5% (21/325). Chronic cystitis was the most frequent finding and account 66.7% (14/21) of the total urinary bladder lesions, while acute cystitis was verified in 33.3% (7/21) of the cases. Regarding to the breeds, the prevalence of 6.1% (18/297) and 10.7% (3/28) were found in local and exotic, respectively. Out of 21urinary bladder lesions, 14 cases were diagnosed as chronic cystitis while 7 cases were acute cystitis. The lesions of chronic cystitis were variable and categorized as uncomplicated, proliferative, hypertrophied, dilated, and emphysematous and that of acute cystitis were hemorrhagic and purulent. Regarding histological examination point of view from the total 21 cases inflammatory lesions were (14%) while carcinoma was present in (86%) patients The occurrence of urinary bladder lesion was not statistical association with breed, age categories and body condition (p>0.05,) of the animal. Finally, conclusive remarks and recommendations on future areas of research are fo...

Dr Gunvanti Rathod, Dr Pragnesh Parmar Lesions of Cervix - A Review

Colposcopic examination of cervix with cervical cytology is very frequently used to screen the cervical lesion. Accuracy of cervical cytology is less as compared to Histopathological examination. Therefore histopathological examination of biopsies of cervical lesions and hysterectomy specimens is the gold standard. Carcinoma of the cervix is the most common cancer in Indian women and accounts for 20% of all malignant tumours in the females. In this book we discussed anatomy, epidemiology, aetiopathogenesis, benign squamous cell lesions, benign glandular lesions and other tumors of the cervix. This book is very helpful for postgraduate students and faculties of Pathology and Obstetrics and Gynecologists.

Patel Ankit, Chalishazar Monali, Vasant Richa Oral Vesiculobullous Lesion

The book on Oral vesiculo bullous lesions provides a comprehensive idea about classification and pathogenesis of vesiculo bullous lesions. It is an accumulation of clinical features, histopathologic features, diagnostic techniques, differential diagnosis, and treatment of different vesiculo bullous lesions. The book improve the applicability of the subject in general practice. Though the book is tailor made for an undergraduate students, certain topics have been covered in-depth, which may be of use for postgraduate reference. As some oral vesiculo bullous lesions are precede the skin lesion, a through knowledge of these lesion may helpful in early diagnosis of life threatening skin diseases, hence I conclude quoting " early diagnosis, better outcomes"

Elizabeth McInnes Pathology for Toxicologists. Principles and Practices of Laboratory Animal Pathology for Study Personnel

Non-pathologists, such as toxicologists and study personnel, can find it difficult to understand the data they receive from pathologists. Toxicological pathologists write long, detailed and highly technical reports. Study personnel are under daily pressure to decide whether lesions described in pathology reports are treatment-related and thus important to the pharmaceutical company or whether the lesions are background changes and thus of little significance. Written by experienced toxicological pathologists, Pathology for Toxicologists: Principles and Practices of Laboratory Animal Pathology for Study Personnel serves to bridge the gap in the understanding of pathology data, enabling non-pathologists to more easily comprehend pathology reports, better integrate pathology data into final study reports and ask pathologists relevant questions about the test compound. This succinct, fully referenced, full colour book is suitable for toxicologists at all stages of their training or career who want to know more about the pathology encountered in laboratory animals used in safety studies. Key features include important chapters on spontaneous and target organ lesions in rats, mice, non-human primates, mini pigs, rabbits and beagle dogs as well as information on general pathology, macroscopic target organ lesions, ancillary pathology techniques, haematology, biochemistry and adversity. Pathology for Toxicologists: Principles and Practices of Laboratory Animal Pathology for Study Personnel includes: Colour diagrams explaining how lesions are caused by either external compounds or spontaneously The anatomic variations and background lesions of laboratory animals Advice on sampling tissues, necropsy, ancillary pathology techniques and recording data A chapter on the haematology and biochemistry of laboratory animals Full colour photographs of common macroscopic lesions encountered in laboratory animals A comprehensive glossary

Monika Dahiya Prevalence of Oral Manifestations of HIV Infection

This book outlines the current epidemiology of HIV associated oral lesions globally and stratifies countries falling under all six WHO regional offices according to high, medium and low prevalence of oral manifestations of HIV infection. Currently there are many knowledge gaps in the prevalence of oral lesions related to HIV infection from different regions as majority of the countries have no database or referral system for these kind of lesions. This is an obstacle to the implementation of various HIV prevention and health promotion programmes as oral lesions are strong indicators of HIV infection, invariably often are the first lesions to be identified and reportedly, are markers of disease progression and parallel the changes in various laboratory markers like CD4 cell count and HIV viral load. Having such a database can prove to be very pivotal in our fight against AIDS because of its diagnostic and prognostic significance. This work is amongst some early studies to show the prevalence globally across countries falling under all six WHO regional offices.

Rahul Kumar, Neha Khambete Non-surgical endodontic management of the combined endo-perio lesions

The actual relationship between periodontal and pulpal disease was first described by Simring and Goldberg in 1964. Since then, the term "perio-endo" lesion has been used to describe lesions due to inflammatory products found in varying degrees in both the periodontium and the pulpal tissues.Endodontic-periodontal lesions present challenges to the clinician as far as diagnosis and prognosis of the involved teeth are concerned.Treatment and prognosis of endodontic-periodontal diseases vary and depend on the cause and the correct diagnosis of each specific condition. This book presents a review on pathogenesis of endo-perio lesions and their differential diagnosis. It also presents a study on role of non-surgical endodontic treatment as a sole treatment in management of endo-perio lesions. It also emphasizes on importance of long term follow-up in managing of such cases.
